About me:
Father,Musician,Music Educator,Jazz Guitarist:
Stan Getz is one Cool Cat I really dig.The best Tenor Sax player ever. Music has always been a large factor in my LIFE and sharing what I know in all forms has been a great part of my LIFE, Music Education,Music History, and just playing music.

"Rhythm Guitar is just like vanilla extract in cake. You know you don't taste it when it there, but sure know when it's left out!'

My health is sadly failing me, [peripheral nerve cancer, the protean sheath the surrounds the brain stem all the way down the spine..I had 2 Gama knifes done so far, and it is idle for now(2x)] and all is being done that can be done and I'm cool with all that, but I want to share with all that I can [Info,Music,Friendship] would kind of make make me real happy and that's kind of what this site is all about sharing one of my most favorite Sax Players [I use Stan's single lines in solo's all the time] but also his history that will always endure the test of time...... Please enjoy his Music and his History as much as I do,and I'm sure you all do.....

A little about me;
I did enjoy teaching private guitar lessons very much. I would teach using a very "hands-on" approach - I tried to show people stuff they could really use in a real playing situation, not just the theory for theory's sake[I sneak that in so it was more effective in how they learn]. I tried to help students play the music they want

to play, I did not have a set agenda. You can play music on so many different levels, some people want to become serious jazz guitarists, others want to just play some blues or rock for fun so they could jam with their friends[here is where I sneak in the theory that cool b3rd's,and hold and bend] it's all good. I'm a very patient teacher. I tried to teach a balance of musical fundamentals - scales, technique, theory, ear training- along with songs the students wants to learn. A lot of students come to me with a specific songs they want to learn and then we could use that song as our guide [ear training]and that will usually lead to some new and different techniques, chords, harmony or other concepts and a touch of theory we can explore together. Music Education is very important in all mental growth it is one of few things in life that let's you use both side of the brain at one time,to get one out put...........a song.............a style.......it does not have to be personal yet it is.....everyone has there own voice in music when they play, it is all about developing that voice.......and making it their own.

C, E-flat and G Go into a Bar

Hi!

Jazz

. The bartender says, "sorry,
but we don't serve minors." So E-flat leaves, and C and G
have an open fifth between them. After a few drinks, the
fifth is diminished and G is out flat. F comes in and tries
to augment the situation, but is not sharp enough.

D comes in and heads for the bathroom saying, "Excuse me.
I'll just be a second." Then A comes in, but the bartender
is not convinced that this relative of C is not a minor.
Then the bartender notices B-flat hiding at the end of the
bar and says, "Get out! You're the seventh minor I've found
in this bar tonight."

E-Flat comes back the next night in a three-piece suit with
nicely shined shoes. The bartender says, "you're looking
sharp tonight. Come on in, this could be a major
development." Sure enough, E-flat soon takes off his suit
and everything else, and is au natural.

Eventually C sobers up and realizes in horror that he's
under a rest. C is brought to trial, found guilty of
contributing to the diminution of a minor, and is sentenced
to 10 years of D.S. without Coda at an upscale correctional
facility.

LOL for sure.....
