Stan is playing on a Hard rubber Brilhart Personaline mouthpiece in this concert, notice the convex design of the shank of the mouthpiece, which is a rare sight. Usually Getz plays on a Hard Rubber Otto Link. The Personaline mouthpieces give a darker, less focused sound. Later in the 70's, Stan changed back to a Link and a harder reed to cut through the speakers, and it really cleared his tone and gave him more range.
