I remember the LP "Live At Minton's Playhouse" with Junior Mance, Larry Gales
and Ben Riley. That was one cookin record. They had such a beautiful theme.

Yeah I hear you about the Montreal Jazz fest. Lately it has not been really up to my taste.
But this year I think they have quite a few good acts.
Last night we had Jazz At Lincoln Center with Winton Marsalis.
Also Maria Schneider Orchestra.
Tomorrow Dave Holland with Chris Potter.
Sadao Watanabe will be here too. Will try to catch that one.
Wayne Shorter is also scheduled this week.
Lee Konitz. And of course Jimmy Cobb's band with Buster Williams.
Lew Tabackin will be in with George Wein and the Newport All Stars.
And not to be missed Helen Merrill at Upstairs Jazz club.

Marla I hope if you ever come up this way you will let me know.
That would be awesome. We're not too far away you know.
Just a few hours driving (-:

Like kids in a candy store, we have been absorbing all the jazz music that is so readily available on the web. On Stan Getz's Myspace there are 76 albums to enjoy, and Quincy Jones has 31 of his albums. Oscar Peterson's Myspace all so has 74 of his albums posted for the listening. Not to mention all the music on You Tube and all the musicians that post regular jazz videos and tutorials. We have been absorbing so much jazz lately. Way cool! Even our dear sweet friend Joan "Sweet N Saxy" has been busy recording over 200 songs on Myspace!!! Her voice is so amazing and versile. From jazz, pop, rock, or country she ends up owning each song she sings. If you have the time link on to her music from our Mypace page. Also on our Myspace page is a Mike Barone Big Band video. He is the one you did all the arrangments for the old NBC orhrestra, and for Doc Severinsen and the Tonight Show Band. The tenor men Ernie Watts and Vince Trombetta are unbeliveable.
