great Rubiano ! And it is never too late and i am sure you know the stories of great artists that started late. Aside from that it is the "joy of creating" tha counts at any level and for someone that has a job like yourself it is great "therapy" also. Keep going and i would love to see the painting. Glenn

Hello Gerard, We are very excited to hear of the TRIBUTE TO STAN GETZ jazz event you are about to organize next summer, and now we read you have a new jazz event on Oct 30th !!! You are a very busy man. ((o: We look forward to watching any videos that you will be kind enough to record. It sounds like you have your work cut out for you. But when you love music as you do, it is not so much work. We listened to your video of Autumn Leaves, and thought, this man really loves to play his horn. If you lived around NY Lou would be glad to tutor you on playing the sax. Sorry to hear you cut four tendons in an military accident. Hopefully the sax playing will strengthen your fingers in time and act as as therapy for you. The best advice to give is to practice as much as possible. Like Stan I would practice up to 8 hours a day. You will see,....You and your horn will become as one! Best of luck with all your musical endeavors, and keep us posted my friend. - Lou and Eva

Hi Gérard,
I hope you are well.
The last photos are from new rare videos on the INA website... Did you see my last blog entry (Stan on French TV) ? The INA publishes many TV shows from the 50s, 60s, 70s, ... directed and/or produced by Jean-Christophe Averty, Henri Renaud, André Francis, ... It's fantastic...
A bientôt. Portes-toi bien.
Pascal

Hi Gerard, Thought you might enjoy this video. Linsey Pollak drills out a carrot and turns it into a clarinet and plays it. He swings with the best of them too. On the night of his big concert his wife accidently chopped up the carrot clarinet and put it in the soup she was cooking for diner that night. hahaha! - Lou

Gerard, thanks for asking me to be your friend, of course I accept and hope that you will be mine, also. Unfortunately. I no longer live in Italy although I still regard it as my home. I also spent some time in France, when I left the army, mainly Marseilles and St. Raphael, which I enjoyed very much. I'll send the photo tomorrow. By coincidence, I do have a bottle of Limoncello, so will toast you when I open it on Christmas Day. My best regards for now, Derek, known as (Del)

Of course Derek, I am very happy to be your friend !
Saint-Raphaël is not so far from where I am living most of the time, I am living in Beausoleil near Monaco , so as we are quite close, may be we could meet us in a very short time !? Why not !

In wich speciality were you in the army before ? I made some good visits in U.K in many good military museum, the level of the British Army is very hight ! I made some good jumps with the parachute regiment!

So, hope to see you soon ! I will add many others portraits I've done about Jazz artists!

Take care!

Gérard
