Gerard, I like it too, well done. I got to know Dex, over many years, from his gigs at Ronnie Scott's. The first drawing that I made of him, just his head, was in 1962, and there were many more up until 1980 when I was invited to attend a photoshoot…

Just checking in to get an up-date on new members. Still enjoying this great site. Derek (Del)
Tony, I agree entirely with your comments about 'Ipanema," but the so-called commercial aspect of any jazz number is okay with me, I'm just pleased that a particular number, played by a consummate artist, can reach and give pleasure to a wider audie…
Painter, jazz portraits, did a lot of work from Ronnie Scott's, who was a good friend. Played. electric flute with an Italian band when I lived in Sorrento, Italy, now taking a break from the easel and doing some writing, short stories, articles and a memoir of my days in the army. It's suppose to be humorous!

Hi Derek,
So nice to see you here on the forum. Your "about me" reveals a very eclectic and wonderful person, as does your interest in American Baseball, so long as you favor the Boston Red Sox winning in tonight's game. :)
Hope you are having a great week.
Sincerely,
Thomas
