hello Tim. Forgive me for the delay here...I think I am too busy making a living to take the time to live..lol;) Yes..that will need some adjusting:) I just visited your Myspace and your style of playing is wonderful. It amazes me the different sounds each indiviudal can bring forth out of what i consider to be one, of two instruments, that are the absolete creme de la creme....the other being the piano. Thank you for your friendship as well as sharing the blessing of your talent.
I'm a friend of David Valdez's and I, too was floored by the Jimmy Mosher motherload. I was literally in tears as I listened. When I first started to get out to hear jazz in the late 60's/early 70's, my very first jazz "love" was Buddy Rich's big band. Since I played alto at the time, I developed huge hero worship of Jimmy's playing, even at the young age of 13 - I knew I was hearing someone very unique/special. So, to have these treasures now is somewhere beyond priceless..I know you understand!
Nice to be part of this group, as well as JaiJai's Jazz Network. I don't usually socialize this much, but through joining all of the jazz groups, newsgroups, etc., well, the shy thing melts away a bit. Are you referring to the Getz at the White House that I uploaded or another Getz video uploaded by someone else that I may have missed?
YUP... Joan loves the tone of the Saxophone and tends to go into a zone, that chills me to the bone....Thank you.... Tim with the eyes full of the mellow meaning of lifes surprise...YUP Tim who has a tone on the Saxophone that is HIS alone....unique and distinct
Thank you Mr. Price:) Hey....what a jackpot forum! I "jumped" to order my CD....just hitting the send button gave me a surge of Big Band energy..lol. We grew up with the Big Band one of a kind sounds and it just never gets old...it only seasons with time. After listening to the sample tracks I have but one question..."May I have this dance?" haahhaa.......Very cool...in the words of good ol Arnold Schwarzneigger (sp?,lol) I'll be back(-;0
Well Tim, if these folksus ever get my CD to me I just might be able to forge forward to the forum AND have me some music to move to lol :) Mucho blessings to you Samba man(-:0
