Sounds very monkish your interview with Thelonious. Saw Stan Getz being interviewed on local T.V. here in Vancouver when he was here in 1965. The awed young rookie interviewer after introducing Stan asked his first question...Stan..immaculately groomed and dressed sat very relaxed, Buddha like... and said nothing for about 30 seconds...the young interviewer was squirming.. tapping his feet looking down at his shoes before Stan finally spoke " Well, ....yes...."
the kid relaxed and a good interview followed.
