I'm a jazz jockey who likes to feature jazz music from local, national and international artists on my radio show over here in Perth, Western Australia.
I've been listening to the music of Stan Getz for the past 42 years now with the first track I ever heard of Stan being his version of "Stella By Starlight" on an mfp vinyl album, when I was just 15 yoa.
I'm described by some people as being a jazz aficionado, whereas I just see myself as being wired a little differently! ;-))
Is your radio stationed streamed? I have several links to jazz stations around the world. I'll frequently be tuned into one when I'm on the computer, and occasionally hear a track which prompts me to buy a cd or check out the artiste on YouTube. In the last couple of weeks I've bought an MJQ "8 Classic Albums", Ike Quebec w. Kenny Burrell "Bossa Nova, Soul Samba" (which is gorgeous), and a B B King at Cannes (not up to his best). Probably no need to keep adding to my collection of vinyls, tapes and cds - now running in to several thousand - but like you I'm "wired a little differently."
