Well not a lot to mention. I was 8 Years old in 1957, living near Chicago, and heard Stan's 'Groovin' High' album.. I was hooked! I've played Tenor since I was 13. In 1970 I moved up to a Selmer Mark VI I've seen Stan play in small clubs in Chicago many times. Biggest thrill was around 1973 at the London House in Chicago. He came out of the band room to the bar. He ordered a WATER GLASS of gin!, after he guzzled that I asked and got an autograph and spoke for a bit as he got another LARGE glass of gin for his first set. I have LP'S from the late 40's until cassettes came out and of course now cd's and dvd's.. Can't really tell you how many but I have most of his albums that aren't remakes.
Oh, here's something cool. He used my ashtray at one of the London House deals and I have two Maroboro cig buts of his! AND a reed as he had to change one between tunes! :)
