I am a retired ordained minister and presently a singer/songwriter with four studio recordings. Attending Barton College, the University of Virginia, and Longwood College (now University), I graduated with a BA in music, followed by a Master of Divinity from the Divinity School at Duke University. My dad had a copy of Johnny Smith's 1952 album, Moonlight in Vermont, and Stan Getz early on became my favorite tenor sax player. In the mid-sixties I was introduced by a guitar teacher friend to the Getz/Gilberto album, and I have several other Getz recordings, including the Chet Baker collaboration (Stan Meets Chet) and the Focus album he did with Eddie Sauter.
