About me:: Retired building contractor in San Francisco. First saw Stan on a Monday night in a club in Tottenville Staten Island. A borough of New York City. The club was called The Tottenvilla. I was in high school, 1958 or 59. Had just taken up lessons on the tenor sax. Stan's' sound made an indelible imprint.
Couple of years after High School, the U.S. Army got me for two years, but was able to stay out of harms way by getting into a headquarters band where I played all kinds of music for the remainder of my two years of service.On flute, as well. Little bit of traveling & playing in the US. One semestre at Berklee in Boston. Then marriage, kids (the whole catastrophy). Now that i'm retired, i'm playing more. Think i'm sounding better.
