Hi Bev,
My grandfather Joe Getz had a butcher shop in Harlem. Neighbors protected their business from robbers because Joe was good to everyone in the neighborhood. Stan and my father Jordan used to hang out there sometimes. In the late 50's my father brought Stan a few times into a nightclub to hear my mother play piano and sing. Might have been the Hickory House or Birdland.
