About me:
Musician, Tenor Sax, Bronx Born. New Stan & Brother
Bob from the old Bronx area. I lived on Longfellow Ave.
Stan lived on Midford Pl, just a few block away. Stan was my Idol. His sound would make you cry at times. I still listen to his music and I try to copy his sound as best I could. At my age it's not to easy anymore. I first met Stan, his first wife Beverly and his father at the Bill Shiener music studio when I was 14yrs old. That's something I will always remember.

In 1952 Stan Getz did a live recording of a tune he wrote called "SWEETIE PIE" in one of the jazz clubs in NYC. and I believe it's the only one he did on this tune. What I'm looking for is the chord structure on it. It sounds like a combination of Honeysuckle Rose and another tune like "SWEET SUE"on the bridge. Stan really swings on this one. Give me a buzz if anybody has some info on this song. Thank's and stay well.

Hello Ray

Nice to see you on this list of Stan's admirers.  I have a question for you.  I've played Stan's "Hershey Bar" many times, and I know that I'm playing extended changes that come from some old standard.  So, what is the tune that "Hershey Bar" is based on?
