Hi Hilde, We both hope you have the time of your life on your visit here to NY. Thanks to sweet Bev for uniting us all together here. We are looking foward to hearing more of your great music and beautiful voice. You and Egil's lastest release An Evening At Prauge was simply astounding. On your vacation you will have some time to meditate on what will inspire your next recordings. Always love to hear a new bossa nova by you. hint hint. Enjoy your stay and have a safe flight back. - Love Eva and Lou

As I signed off with "Bye Bye"......your fantastic rendition of
"Bye Bye Blackbird"......(my dear friend late great Peggy Lee
- we were/are both children of Dakota - would have been so
proud of your version of her classic "BBB")......was the final
song featured on your Music Player.....................................
AND THAT WAS SIMILAR TO WHAT I WANTED TO TELL YOU.........Today, on my Dr. Bob's Jazz Boppin' Bebop Quartet
page on the Stan Getz Community...I finally uploaded some of
my JBBQ songs...featured between one of beloved friend Stan's
hit song..."I Remember You"..............................................
AND your wonderful song of "Bye Bye Blackbird"......and that
my last song presented was..."Journey To Somewhere"......
followed immediately by Hilde Hefte singing "Bye Bye
Blackbird"......and how the two songs seem to fit each other
in some musically strange symbiotic relationship...or so it seemed to me in my song ordering................................................
Regardless, thanks again for your music and being my friend!!

Hello Hilde. I don't know why it has taken me this long to request your friendship here?:) I think school at 46 is causing me serious brain damage..lol. I was on the home page and you came on singing...or it was Bevs page? MMM See what I mean? ha ha ANYWAY it was you singing that I know. I LOVE your voice. So effortless and smooth is the sound. I just love what Bev has put together here...it is absolutely a joy. Blessings to you;)
Hi Hilde, How was your vacation in NY? Looking at the photos, it sure looks like all of you had a good time. Hope you had enough vacation time to relax, reflect, and rejuvenate.
I wanted to ask you, on your songs "Vakker Natt" and "Once I loved", is that Toots Thielemans on the harmonica solos? It sure sounds like Toots's playing style . He's simply the best. I Love all your songs, I have no idea how your going to top last years amazing CD, that's one hard act to follow, but I just know that you will outdo yourself ! Stay Blessed - Louis
Yay! Thank you:) Sleep? What is that??lol I am the worlds worst at staying up too late, but supernatural straength comes in the morning;) Thank you and I am honored to be amongst your friends. I just love it here...I could live here (and almost do in my free moments..lol) Blessings to you and wonderful rest:)
Hilde, I was just "decorating" my profile and signing out. On the home page started playing "Lonely Lady," which shame on me, I had never heard...beautiful (my new fave song of Stans;) ) THEN came "Vakker Natt." Mesmerizing to hear the flow of your wonderful voice and the bossa beat....love it! Have a wonderful day:) Just had to express the inner thoughts of appreciation for your talent;)
The Jewel song is part of an album I was going to do with Stan Getz. He was going to play opera arias and improvise on them. He passed before we could get under way. Pagliacci was one of the other arias we were working on.
Hi Hilde!!
Always wonderful to hear from you.. We are returning recently from a trip to Hawaii. Three weeks in Paradise. Lots of spectacular sunrises and sunsets, breathtaking landscape, and deep blue ocean. Magical and wondrous.
Please give my best regards to Egil.
Beaker and I send love and huge hugs back to you both!
Take care,
John
Hey Hilde,
Great to hear from you! I hope your life is full of wonder and music. I'm having a busy summer, but not so much with gigs. I did get to the Gypsy jazz camp, however. (You can read all about it here http://www.jazz.com/jazz-blog/2008/7/27/gyspy-jazz-one
http://www.jazz.com/jazz-blog/2008/8/4/gypsy-jazz-two . Part three is coming in about a week.)
