Dave CasT (Castiglione) homecoming gig with Ronnie France, Karl Sterling & Rick Balestra

David "CasT" CasTiglione brings his jazz home to Auburn for Nov. 21 show


AUBURN NY - These days everyone knows him as "CasT." You may have seen
him on PBS,or in the horn section with The Dave Matthews Band on "Live on The
Rocks" Cd or DVD, or on tour with George Clinton.

Auburn native and sax player David CasTiglione returns to his home town of Auburn
for a special appearance with his jazz quartet at Bear Bones Bar-B-Que, located
at 83 Wall Street 8:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21st. There will be no cover charge.

CasT, will be joined by a stalwart CNY jazz line-up that includes guitarist Rick
Balestra, bassist Ron France and drummer Karl Sterling for this special "ine
night only" performance.

Playing a vast array of woodwinds, keyboards and percussion has allowed David
to add his sound and sensibilities to a multitude of musical endeavors worldwide.
He has been heard - live in concert, and on recordings – with a very diverse selection
of artists; from The Dave Matthews Band to John Zorn's Cobra.
In the pop and funk world he has logged touring time with DMB, George Clinton, 420
Funk Mob, David Torn and nouveaux zydeco master, Terrence Simien among others.

In the art and improvising music world he has performed, colaborated and recorded
with: David Torn, John Medeski, Steve Swallow, the late Don Cherry, Tronzo, NaNa
Vasconcelos, Karl Hans Berger, Michael Bisio, Danillo Perez, Steven Bernstein and
many modern jazz oriented artists and bands as well.

He is heard on recordings with: DMB, David Torn, George Clinton, Peter Griesar
(DMB), Sara Lee (B 52s, Indigo Girls), Satoko Fuji, Bad Brains, John Zorn’s Cobra,
Drugs, The Memphis Pilgrims, Shades Apart, Walter Thompson, Gabriel and many others.

David is very active in the recording studio as well, both as a musician, remixer
and producer.
He produced and is a featured soloist on the latest recording of the
avante-electronica ensemble GeminiTrio titled "NOThing JUSTifies NOISE"
soon to be released on Tao Records.

David is also working on some tracks with a Charlottesville Va. music group Soko,
where he will be playing saxophone alongside of his long-time friend and music partner,
the late LeRoi Moore, saxophonist and founding member of DMB who died tragically
from an accident earlier this year.

Some of his other production credits include: "Forever Sharp and Vivid"
with David Torn, Walter Thompson - "The Colonel","Hector's Nightmare",
and jazz pianist John Esposito.

He is currently working with the up & coming Guthrie Lord producing his
new recording. CasT will play saxophone on some of those tracks as well. He is
involved in pre-production for a new vocal jazz recording by New York song chanteuse,
Pamela Pentony. David will be producing that recording in early 2009.
