About me:: I am a retired musician. Found jazz through the playing of Stan Getz. The first record I ever bought was "Stand Getz at Storyville" 10"LP and never looked back. The first time I meet Stan was in 1956 outside of a phone booth in front of Chuck Landis' Tiffany Room in Los Angeles. I was 16 and trying to get into the club. We spoke for a few minutes but. He was very kind and really liked the Japanese girl I was with. After that I met him in Madrid several times and later I returned to the US and the last time I saw him was at Rick's in Chicago. Prompting his memory he realized who I was and I was really surprised because he mentioned the Japanese girlfriend. Every time I met Stan he was most gracious and to me he sure didn't fit Zoot's characterization at all.
