Remembering Stan...

STAN GETZ IN EUROPE 1956

Dear friends, dear Bev Getz

I recently got information about the 1956 european tour of the Gerry Mulligan Sextet. This fabulous combo met Stan Getz two times! Paris, Olympia theatre (march 1 or 7) and Berlin Deutchslandhall (march 31) where they played with Chet Baker too.

This is the first time that I heard that Gerry Mulligan met Stan Getz during this european tour. So I research more information about Stan Getz in Europe during spring 1956!!

Hi Gerard,

I didn't know that this was the first time that Stan and Gerry met! Interesting. We lived in Denmark during that time. Dad loved living over there.

Thanks for starting this discussion. Sadly, I don't know much about my dad and his working situations during that time, as I was about 2! But I'm loving reading everything that all you musician guys know! ((~:
