I don't know Jack personally. So sad that this project never got off the ground... would have been amazing! Looking forward to hearing those demos! Shorty was one of the kindest people I've ever known. Loved that man...

As a matter of fact, (shame on me...I have 3/4s of a Network admin AAS) Too complicated that Cisco Sytems bunko...BUT yes, I just recently familiarized myself with Skype. I am still ironing out the wrinkles...in my brain..lol but FREE is the majic word;)

lol I'm ironing...in fact I am steaming like an iron! lol By that I mean steam is coming out of my ears trying to fully understand this Anatomy and Physiol. stuff. I am too old for this, and too young to quit..and too tired to care...but pressed to finish so much by midnight tomorrow. Then is when I turn in to a pumpkin or lose my slipper or slip and fall...something of the sort..lol. OHH haaaaa....no camera.... I have never believed in cameras..LOL My mom said i used to scream and run when I saw a camera and nothings changed in all these years ha ha ha;)
I will keep ya posted. Have a great Sunay and say a prayer for my sanity sake..lol. These bodies of ours are quite intricate, but really when I get it...finally....I am facinated. I think TOO much is really my problem. I just need to learn it and quit trying to figure it out.:))

You did? What a compliment.
I'm located in Norway, Kristiansand.
I can "hear" Stan Getz playing, so sorry to hear that this project was too late for the two of them, but the idea is great so I'm glad you didn't just put it away!!!!!

So glad you're enjoying the Stan's Forum Arthur! It's very 'cozy'! A little 'home away from home' if you will! (-:

No, it's Egil Kapstad playing piano on all the tracks.
And he's the one who also did all the music arrangements on the CD where I'm singing with the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra (the sample from that CD here is For Heaven''s Sake).
He's a fine pianist, right? I adore his playing.

I love the song:) It saddens my heart that Stan didn't get to participate in the making, but somehow I am sure he was there in spirit as well as peoples hearts abroad. Thank you for sharing Arthur and have a wonderful evening. I am taking a break then back to the books...well book...It is a library and wealth of information all in one. :))

Hi again.
No, there's no tracks with me playing the piano.
Sorry :-))
I notice you've uploaded Jewel - I can't turn my speakers on where I'm sitting now. I'll be back SOON - can't wait to listen to it.
Love
Hilde

Oh no... I did not know that we lost Sol... Very sad. So sorry. )-:

Body and Soul - this track is one of his best I think. And I believe it was from his first recording with his own quartet, late 40's or early 50's.

Small World was done in 1988. Stan was Dir. of Jazz Studies at Stanford at that time. He had asked Huey Lewis to perform for a Children with Cancer Benefit there. Huey said of course he would come and asked Stan to be on his next CD (Small World) in return. At least that's how I remember the story! Stan loved doing it.!
