About me:: I'm a jazz lover firstly. Having been reared in Baltimore, MD, I learned to appreciate and understand its value. It was played in home at neighbors homes and concerts were plentiful. It wasn't until one day at my friends home that I heard Stan's melodic sounds on the Brazilian album of the Gilberto's and Antonio Carlos Jobim. Then I realized at that point how I was set on fire with joy to hear Stan's way of playing . After that I sought out anything he played with whomever. I wish that he were still with us. But, then again he left his tearfully joyous sounds that still touch my heart since the inception of listening to his sounds. I would love to have scatted with him to any songs. As a singer from early days it would have been a pleasure.

Thanks to all who made this forum a reality and especially Beverly Getz. Cheers to you for incorporating his memory for all of us. By far he's still my favorite sax player and will always be. No one has emulated him, for his life has created this sound and so it will never be replicated since no one has walked in his shoes. Looking forward to interacting with friends of Stan's to keep the communication and learning more about his legacy alive.

My spirit is touched whenever he plays anything. Perhaps I may be obsessed with his style. Be that as it may. I'm grateful.

Couldn't help but share my thoughts. I listen to his music regular, as it soothes and brings special thoughts, situations and people in my life.
