Gerard, I like it too, well done. I got to know Dex, over many years, from his gigs at Ronnie Scott's. The first drawing that I made of him, just his head, was in 1962, and there were many more up until 1980 when I was invited to attend a photoshoot for a jazz magazine. Just for fun, I used the original drawing to remake a picture, adding the outline of his horn and a hand. Dex had a great sense of humour saying, when he saw it, "If I'd known I used to look that good I wouldn't have got this old." I have a photo, from the session, how can I send it to you? Oh, Thank you very much for what you said about my pastel, I love what Dexter Gordon did, I like his way of playing, trying to immitate him when I am playing !
My favourite movie with him : "Round midnight" of course, a famous film I've seen about 16 times !!!

Life is very strange sometimes, I am a professional soldier, NCO's like you are saying in the British Army,
I 'm still waiting to go once again overseas may be Afghanistan, Kosovo, Bosnia?? I don't know at this time !
I know the place you are living "Sorrento" near Naples because I was making some good jumps near this place in Salerno with the A.N.P.D'I wich is the Italian's National formers paratroopers association from Italy ! I saw on this site that you were a former brit soldier ...so I am very pleased to meet you !!
When I was jumping for my Italian wings in Salerno, I was jumping with two very good friends of mine who are in the British forces ...So, this is funny , no ?
Enjoy your stay in Sorrento and do not drink to much " limoncello" ...May be I will go in London A.S.A.P in Ronnie Scott 's club ..I know this famous place only by many videos I've got of this famous Jazz club !

Hello Pascal,

I hope that you are fine ?!! Thanks a lot for your last mail about my pastel of Dexter Gordon !
I am looking for a picture I saw where we can see Dexter and Stan Getz playing together ...do you know this picture?
By the way, the Jazz event for next summer will be like is it plan...organization is on , all is O.Kay !
