About me:: I'm 65 and retired. I first heard Stan at age 16. The tune was Desafinado and I was hooked!! It was like nothing I'd ever imagined music could be like. Living in NYC, I went to see him at whenever he played in every jazz club in the city. The first being the Village Vanguard in 1962. Hearing him in person was always just incredible!! I loved it so much. I last saw Stan in 1989 at the Wiltern Theatre in Hollywood Ca. When he passed it was like a chunk was taken out of my soul. I still miss him.
