Lou and Eva are animal lovers who had owned a Mobile Dog grooming business for over 25 years, and have been animal right activists all their life. Lou has been a jazz musician since the age of 12. A tenor and flute man majoring in the woodwind instruments. Lou and Eva enjoy listening to all types of jazz, from bebop, big band, to cool, and smooth jazz. Eva has won many awards over her lifetime for staying with Lou for 35 years, and God willing many, many more years to come. We never met Stan Getz but knowing Bev is like knowing Stan. A beautiful person, and also a animal lover like her Dad.
Sometimes that happens to me with the player as well. But it's only when I use Mozilla. doesn't happen with Internet Explorer. And this is only since I'm on Vista, with a new computer. DRAG! Not crazy about Vista!
But so glad you were able to hear Hilde's tune!! She is AMAZING!!! She's coming to visit me and will arrive tomorrow! Can't wait! Picking her up at JFK. GOOD TIMES!! (-:
Hi Eva and Lou.
Thank you for the most wonderful comment!!!
Yes, I'm enjoying my stay here VERY much, and I will try to meditate over my next project he-he.
I'm now sitting in Bev's livingroom and LOVE every minute of it.
Talk to you again soon.
Love
Hilde :-)
Thanks for adding me to your list of friends and I'm glad Bev told me about this forum. By the way, you gave me my first chuckle of the week (very cute) when I read this:
Eva has won many awards over her lifetime for staying with Lou for 35 years,
Looking forward to more discussions and the new friendship(s).
Hi Louis!
Thanks for the kind comment and for the friendship.
The honor is mine having friends like you and Eva.
I admire everyone that are animal right activist.I try to do something for the animal right here in Brazil.
Louis, I wish someday, listen you playing sax.
Best wishes from Brazil!
Peace
I haven't had the pleasure of meeting you both, so first a hello from me to you. I read your are animal activists and I am so blessed to know there are more of us out there than I thought. I am sometimes ummm well ridiculed for the love and care I demonstrate for animals, but I see them as precious and defenseless. Maybe it is the "mommy syndrome?" lol At any rate, you are both a blessing to the musical world as well as the animal kingdom:)
Well, I fell in love with Paulie the squirrel! How precious a relationship people can have with nature. I always told my mom I wanted a skunk...just de-skunked..LOL I am still waiting for that one ha ha:) An Owl would suffice. I am going to leave a link here for you, just in case you are interested in ornithology. Some say its for the birds..lol Pun intended;) I love watching these owls raise their young. The owlets are big enough to be discovering their feet..( do owls have feet? lol ) I asked that on forum there and no one answered? ha ha Anyway...they are the neatest little things and growing fast. I will leave the "beakspeak" site that has every bird cam throughout the world and they have a squirrel cam as well;) Thank you for your frienship and your true love for Gods creations...so refreshing! :) I have a hunch you might already know about these bird cams..but just in case...;)
http://www.beakspeak.com/birdcams/
LOL I love it! Yes 2 by 2? Call me...I am a natural at building things...I don't know about an ark..BUT HEY YA NEVER KNOW! Yes, people think I am weird because I know what the birds are talking about, my pets...I read them like a book. It is not hard to do, but animals so know who loves them and who does not. I gues they know i do because I am a magnet for every stray within a 10 mile redius, and I wouldn't change it for the world. You are both a pleasure to know. I am looking forward to your pics on my space. I recon I would be smart to request friendship so I can see the pics of the birdand its babes. Blessings in abundance to you;)
Hiiii!!!
I'm still in the US and enjoying it SOOO very much.
Leaving Saturday.
No, believe it or not, it's not Toots on the harmonica, it's a Norwegian guy named Finn Hauge and harmonica is not even his main instrument.
Yes, I have to work hard to come up with a new album that can match a full symphony orchestra, band and the wonderful arrangements of Egil Kapstad. - he-he
Hope life is smiling and that you're enjoying spring/summer.
All the best in life
from me to you.
:-)))))
Greetings to my fellow animal and music lovers! It's great to finally meet you here, I've seen ya' around ya' know :o) I imagine we could talk about critters and jazz for a while, but I'll start short and just say "howdy" and tell you that we have 5 "nines," 4 "lines," and 2 "fins." I think that's a full house! I look forward to getting to know more about both of you. I can tell we have similar senses of humor already. 35 years of marriage is worth at least an Academy award and a purple heart ;o) Here's to 35 more!
Oh! Don't you just love Lonely Lady?! I do, too! It's on my Stan myspace player, too.
I know how dogs get soooo upset with fireworks and thunderstorms! Thankfully, Stella is oblivious to both!! But the horses go bullistic. I will have to close them in their stalls and hope they don't hurt themselves. They should be alright. I'll leave their fans on high, which will help to keep them cool and block the noise of the fireworks a bit.
Hi guys. I have adobe's latest, 9... installed but still can't see this one video. All the others are fine.
Thanks for your support. Yes, I will be asking you some questions as I go along.
I am renting a new Yamaha YAS 200AD which is a YAS 23, different case only. I have been playing this for 73 days and I think I will be playing the sax the rest of my days. So, I am starting to think about buying a horn. No, not a Yamaha. I am going to a shop this weekend, www.saxalley.com to try some high end used horns.
The mouth piece that came with the Y is a 4C hard plastic. I am going to try a Meyer 5. Thoughts?
PS We live in Fort Collins, CO and have always been near & dear to all animals. We have had baby foxes born in our backyard 2 years in a row. Did you see my pictures?
frank
lol lol Haaa Poor dog...We never made it to the porch of people for fireworks. Cupid heard one shrill when we got into the garage and I said ok...lets go for a ride and listen to the Austin Wind Orchestra. (Great concert!) THAT was a stupid thing to do as however. I almost got run down in my little Yaris by a couple of inebriated maniacs that were going probably 90 miles an hour on a VERY dark very curvy road. Man..I have got to stop the highlighting chemicals...lol I think they have seeped into my cerebral cavity and penetrated the cerebellum of my sanity..haaa What does that mean you ask? I don't know cause I ain't got the brains left to tell ya:) lol I luv you two little love birds;) I had to leave this cute pic in dedication...I know how y'all love parrots like I do...really I do...as long as they are someone elses;)) Haaaaaa Delete Comment
?? I just caught glimpse of the bottom of my comment below and it says delete comment?? I didn't type that so :)) maybe it is always there and thats just all the more reason to just go on a head with the highlighting..damage is done HAAA
Haaaaa lol! You two are 2 funny..lol Yes...I cannot wait to hear how this little duet of deception pans out..hopefuuly I get enough charge down here at the bottom of this cavern to get a call. I am thinking about learning how to send up smoke signals...lol I would love to be a fly on the wall to see this...have fun;)) lol
Yo, Lou & Eva! I hope your summer's been groovy so far. I imagine you're busy and the animals want to be outside all the time! Yes, you guessed it, it's felines and canines. I've always wondered why we have teeth that are called canines, but not felines ;o) I've been busy choosing and arranging songs for a tribute concert to my musician mom for next month. There are so many great standards to choose from! I picked the one's she loved the most. It'll be quite a night and I'm looking forward to playing a Steinway :o) I'll be in touch again soon. I'm enjoying getting to know you; two sweet hip, funny, music and animal lovers, what else could you ask for?
It's been quite a career. I don't remember not playing music, I had no choice in my family. I hear lots of people say " if only my parents made me practice" I never had to say that, and neither do my children. That's my son, Shem, playing bass on DOCK OF THE BAY. Check him out on myspace. He's on 2 times, as a rock musician and an operatic Helden Tenor. Search Shem Von Schroeck. Thanks for your comments.
Hey Lou & Eva! Lou, I loved that story about your Uncle Dom. Now, I bet that since you had an Uncle Dom(inic) you just might be a fellow Italian too? My dad was full-blooded and I'm second generation. Don't get me wrong, I'll dig you guys just as much if you're not Italian, but I've only met one Italian (and no Jewish people) since I moved to TX and I miss my "old country" people! You and Eva look like my cousins so I felt like I knew you already - thank you for that little bit of home. I might fit in better in NY or the like, but I love the woods!
My mom's first horn was a Buffet clarinet when she was 8 or 9 - she loved Benny Goodman. Her first sax was a Conn, and she later added a LeBlanc clarinet, a Selmer Mark 6 - you know the GOOD one. She also played flute, had two of those, and a Yamaha tenor and bari - I believe, and a soprano (a cigar cutter?), not sure what brand. She also played piano, sang, and wrote a song for me that I still play to this day, my dad sang and loved jazz too, so it's no surprise that I turned out this way! My brother and sister also play piano/organ. My brother Deen is a Berklee grad and a fine jazz pianist. BOTH are better music readers than I am :o)
"Salute" from the south.
p.s. 'scuse the long post, we have a lot in common! I'm so glad I've met you two.
Thanks for the welcome. I know I'm definitely going to love it here--anywhere I can get more information about Stan and hang around people who love his music as much as I do.
Heyyyy...I am missing you two very much. I have been negligent here in my hellos so I am trying to catch up, and needed desperately to get my head out of the medical terminology book and listen to the method of music:) I luv you both Have a blesed week/weekend The latter can't come soon enough for me(-:0
Hey little darlins:) I really missed getting to visit with y'all. That was the longest trip ever with Cupid. He got so sick when I stopped to get my tire checked. I am standing there getting checked in and this mechanic tells me, "maam, I think something is wrong with your dog." Lord...I look down and well Yes Cupid was sick...I attribute it to the heat and the smell of hot oil from the service center. Anyway....I made it and Mia wore me to a frazzle;) I love that child so much it hurts. Well, I am coding my brains out so back to the books for a time then sweet sleep is in great need. I luv yas much! Have a blessed rest (of the week (-:0 )
Oh haaaaaaaa Lord! I know it is not at all funny but the laughing gas must have seeped through the computer LOL How scary! You know...man o man...the dentist chair is bad enough without having some gased up idiot behind the drill hahaha Yea, the dentists here are NUTS! Maybe it is everywhere, but the charges are absolutely ludicris. I guess that is why my dentist lives so on the lake he could jump out his balcony and take a swim lol KIDDING (or maybe I am not...who knows really)
Oh, no, Cupid has never gotten sick before. It was such a hot day, as is today and promised tomorrow as well..BLAH! Hey... I went to the leasing office here today to see how a friend of mine up there is doing. They all love Cupid and asked where he was...the concierge asked me if I would bring him back to see her that he was a "bright spot" in her day when I bring him in ...awee:) SO I delivered some candles and shipped some out then took him up there. She said while I was gone, she contacted the property manager and had a "pet of the month club" approved because of "Cupie" SMILE I thought that was sweet of her He has a way for sure little stinker. He drives me batty sometimes but well, he has grown on me. Have a great evening you two...blessings in abundance to you(-:) (-:0
Aweeeeeee:)) You two make me smiiiiiiiileeeeeeee:) Thank you for your sweet words and support. I love you so so much God bless you my sweet friends (-:o (-:O
Hi Lou and Eva...
Took these pics about an hour ago and immediately thought to send them to you! SUCH a cute squirrel! Abby had electricity coming off every hair on her body! She was soooooooo wanting to go through the window! Glad she couldn't!
Hope all is well with you both,
love,
Bev

Hey Cousins! Now every time I see a squirrel, I think of you ;o) I haven't tried the sausage bread yet, but will. Christmas in NY, now that would be a fun trip! I've always wanted to do that. Bev got some cute pics there. I'll be typing at you again soon. Let me know when you get snow, I always miss the first one. Now go get into some trouble! Hugs from TX.
Thank you so much for the beautiful videos - they made my morning and I sure can imagine it was difficult to part with Paulie. We have so many squirrels around our home in Duxbury, MA and I love watching them and glad they "hang" in the 'hood. Now, our boyz, Louis and Eubie just wanna bark at their furry couzins. ;-).
Louis and Eubie are actually Maltese and very often mistaken for Bichon Frise. The are 1/2 brothers, sharing a mommy. You would have loved grooming them, as they are little angels with our groomer and then become their usual, untrained selves at home. We adore them with every bit 'o love we have.
Thanks for keeping in touch and have a wonderful day.
I hope all is well with you - was just stopping by here to look around and say hello to folks. I hope you have a wonderful holiday season and maybe we can meet in the new year! I don't get down to NY as often as I'd like, but we'll see!
Thanks for the return comments. As a matter of fact, I was a very lucky young lady - I heard Stan at: The Half Note, The Bottom Line, Central Park, Carnegie Hall, Jack Kleinsinger's Highlights in Jazz Concert at NYU (that was with the Buddy Rich Big Band) - mostly in the late 70's and early 80's. I also spent a wee bit of time with him when my Dad took me into the city too hear Stan. Always very kind to us. I also spent many nights listening to big bands in the 70's and 80's - mostly Buddy Rich, but also Basie, Maynard and even Kenton's band a few times.
Happy Holidays to the two of you and I LOVE the Woodstock/Snoopy cartoon - I am a HUGE Woodstock fan and have several stuffed animal Woodstocks ;-).
Hey, swingin' cousins. May all be groovy with you. Are you on FB? I'll be looking for you on there. I've been missing youze and had to listen to my Lou and Eva jones. Is that a monkey on my back or a squirrel? Ha...
Kenny Burrell hand down although Charles Christian was a main influence of mine in my younger days..Herb Ellis for the swing sure grabs one ear...And if it were not for music and some real good Dr's we would not be having is talk..My time is pretty much # and I'm all cool with that...just wanting to get as much of musical insights out to all...and soon all of musical library well be avalable to all......295GB worth for all to enjoy....stay sharp or in key untill next time Rick
Heyyyy!!!! So nice to find you here! I haven't been on MySpace too much this past year. Been a very busy summer.
I hope you and Eva and critters are all well and enjoying this beautiful fall weather! Yes... Eva is right.. and I should be more careful. I don't really lay in the sun... I'm just outdoors A LOT! But I will try and be more mindful. THANK YOU! XO
Please come back and visit more often! Missed you guys!
