Hi Bev, I hope all is well at the estate, and you and the pups are having lots of fun. In my youtube search this week I found some of Stan and Astrud Gilberto videos. I dont know if Stans site allready has them posted. It was my first viewing of them and hope you also enjoy them. Love and hugs - Lou
Astrud Gilberto and Stan Getz - It Might as Well Be Spring
Bev, your compliment made my week! Thank you for making me smile. I'm diggin' listening to Hilde and I'm thrilled that I'm lucky enough to her friend AND your friend. I consider it a blessing to have met you here and even though only one can win each bingo game and it can get a little competitive, I think that the mutual love we have for animals, music, and laughter will see us through for many years to come. My wig itches! Is this a Troll booth, because I don't have any change?! ;o) Hugs from here to FB and back.
BEAUTIFUL!! - The story on the front page and listening to "Her", I think I'll stay here for a while, it's like meditation. "Her" is one of my favorite!!!
Love you Søs and sending stooooooooor klem

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave me a welcome message - it's lovely to feel like part of a community here, all digging Stan's music. I'm sure you're approached by people telling you how much Stan's music means to them on a fairly regular basis(!), but anyway here's my twopenny worth: Stan IS music, pure and simple. He is melody and rhythm and phrasing and all things delightful. He is everything that is good and fine in music. Thanks for having me at your lovely site. x DD
Hi.... It's so nice to meet you.. Wow you writing was like coming home.... Yup I knew Stan when he was living in Lauderdale by the sea... He was just great.. and with his cool demeanor on stage was just the nicest guy to talk to... It's funny what a big part of my life he was... Everything from when my kids were babies and would cry in the middle of the night and I'd go see what the needed and after a changing or bottle the only song I could think of to sing to them at that time in the morning was " The girl From Ipanema" Now they listen and love your dad's music too...:) Even just a year or two ago I was driving back from Daytona and it was pouring down rain so bad I was calling friends on the cell phone just to let them know where I was and wasn't sure I was going to make it... One of Stan's songs came on the radio and the weather cleared up and so did I... I kind of took it as a nice hello and someone up there was watching out for me... Thanks for writing.. I'm a professional photographer and if you'd like to referbish any of the older photos I'd be glad to help... or for that matter anything else I can do...
Thanks
Anna
Thank you Bev for your understanding and warm remarks. Only three times have I cried my eyes out when a musician I loved passed away: Stan, Bill Evans and now Kenny Rankin. His soul as much as his voice and choice of material were unique. His "Kenny Rankin Album" is one I could not live without. He will sing in heaven alongside your dad and others. It is a great loss for us, however. Thanks again. It is good to know a Mensch like you.
Bev, I wish you could be my manager! I wouldn't micromanage you, I promise. haha. I'll just have to imagine you as the voice of my positive angel on my shoulder whispering affirmations :o) I sure hope you can drown out the negative voice, it's Fran Dresher. It used to be Ethel Merman, but I couldn't take, "There's Ne-o Business Like She-ow Business" even one more time. I'd say, "Damn you to hell and back, Ethel, you're about a hundred dry-mouthed years old, don't you know any other songs? And where did you learn your phrasing? On a roller coaster? She told me it was a trampoline, but I thought she called me a 'tramp who leaned' and fisticuffs ensued. I still have her wig, but she was out of a gig. Well, this could go on all night, and some day, it might! Big love and an even bigger thank you to you. <3 to the fur babies.

I spoke again today (6/23/09) to the city manager of Stanley, Virginia, Terry Petit, who assured me (again) that the very next street that is named in Stanley, Va., will be STAN GETZ Street. Perhaps it will be this summer - depends upon building & the economy but Stan's street is coming. This small town of less than 2000 appreciates the great jazz legacy of Stan and honors him as I do. We love you Stan! We always have.
Thanks for your welcome Bev. I am delighted to be a member of the Stan Getz Community and am looking forward to many visits to this terrific website in the future. I visited the site as I am planning to present a recital entitled The Sound of Stan Getz to the Glasgow Jazz Record Club, which was founded in 1933, in February. Glasgow has a connection with Stan as his wonderful concert there in 1989 was broadcast by the BBC and later issued on CD. My audience is likely to be somewhat smaller, but the music will be just as great.
Larry
So glad you added Parker 51 to the site. One of my favorites. I arranged it for a big band. Sorry haven't been here for a while. Thanks for joining the Sid Catlett and Terry Gibbs groups on Face Book.
Hiiiii Søs.
What a BEAUTIFUL bird-photo you sent me!!!!!!!
Hope you slept well and I've been cleaning all the bad energy away from you and your house in my sleep last night - funny hehehe.
Indeed, FB can be an energy inhaler. Hey! what are you inhaling young lady?! You put that down right now! haha... FB is kind of like going to a busy club or bar, and it's nice to get away from the din - do not take me away from din-ner, however! This is a nice calm place here, the cosmic black page, no stupid quizzes or apps. So, I do understand your sabbatical. Back to recording and then I'll be whipping out my famous buttermilk biscuits! haha... They're lining up at the door already, wait...they're holding bills in their hands, "They're NOT those kind of biscuits!" Phew, that was a close one. Love & hugs to you and the fur fam. We'll find each other :o)
Hey Bambi,
Sorry I missed your call again- I have been frantic the last couple of days, dealing with some things and my daughter Cassandra's visit. She leaves tomorrow morning, going back to Louisville, so I've been spending more time with her on her last day. I'll try to catch you tomorrow. Hugs to you and Johannah!
Hei gode tvillingsjelsøs.
I meant to call you today, but there's a terrible weather here so I don't want to use the phone - you know everything about me and thunder and lightning :-///
Love youuuuuuuuu
Sending all my warmest, most smiling energy to you!!

My father Anders Dyrup and I was yesterday remembering Stan Getz and his wonderful music and the time they lived together in Denmark, so today I found this web-page and just want to congratulate you with it and send many regards from us (now living in Lanzarote, Canary Islands, Spain. Yours sincerely Lyng Dyrup
Bev, about the quote at the top of your page: sorry, but in my limited experience all too often a person to be loved IS a problem to be solved. At least a sax gives you a second chance!
Hope your experience has been different from mine.
Bev, its been a while hope all is well.
I wanted to know if you were aware Joel Frahm will be doing a tribute to Stan on Oct. 16th in Hartford's Asylum Hill. The tribute will be celebrating Stans "FOCUS"
Please let me know if you would be interested in attending, that would add so much to the purformance.
Please feel free to contact me if you are interested.
Thanks
I would ask you this :" is there any "Stan Getz foundation" ? I mean something like a "museum" in the memory of your father?
A place where every fan could go to find many things about his life, many pictures, many videos, records, paintings...ect.
May be this place is existing ...Could you please tell me where it is...may be one day, I will go in New-York ...I would like to discover such a place where his former friends could leave a thing, a word about him...a place where we could a his sensitive spirit!
May be ...if this place does not exists, it is an idea ???Why not !!??
My best regards, whising you all the best !
