My Favorite listening...STAN GETZ

MusicPlaylistRingtones

About me....to complex..haha ;)
I simply love the Saxophone and in my opinion, Stan Getz music in #1 on my top 5. There is no sound like the sound this man could make with this amazing instrument. Very distinct and unique sound. I love it.
I love to write songs by ear, seeing as I don't read a lick of music..lol. I will sit down at the piano, get into some lost world of my own and play what I hear in my heart. Have been singing for hire for 15+ years and enjoying every minute of it...bar one wedding I had to sing "Endless Love" haaaa
Spending hours lost in the world of writing and composing is my favorite thing to do when I have free time. I love my 3 children with all my heart, mind, body and soul. OH and Mia my precious grandbaby:) They are grown...26, 24 and 20...all successful at their choice of field and I give the credit for that to God...without him I could not have raised them to be so wonderful as they are.
THEN...there is my "furry family." When I feel lonely...they sense that and are there for me...no judgement, Just furry wonderful unconditional love:) I thank God for them every day..don't know what I'd do without em;)
Hmmm I love candles, making & smelling. When you light a candle in a room...you have created an instant ambiance of peace and calm. I love meeting new people, try to touch hurting peoples hearts and live each day as it comes:) That should do it!...Zzzzzzzz ;)...... and Bev....you are a sweetheart:) I love to come here as a refuge and a source of enjoyment as well. What a wonderful idea to keep memory of Stan with friendships music and laughter:) XOXO

GREAT FOOD FOR THOUGHT & APPLICATION:)
1.I love you not because of who you are, but because of who I am when I am with you…

2. No man or woman is worth your tears, & the one who is, won't make you cry.

3. Just because someone doesn't love you the way you want them to, doesn't mean they don't love you with all they have.

4. A true friend is someone who reaches for your hand & touches your heart.

5.The worst way to miss someone is to be sitting right beside them knowing you can't have them

6. Never frown, even when you are sad, because you never know who is falling in love with your smile.

7. To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world.

8. Don't waste your time on someone, who isn't willing to waste their time on you.

9. Maybe God wants us to meet a few wrong people before meeting the right one, so that when we finally meet the person, we will know how to be grateful.

10. Don't cry because it is over, smile because it happened.

11. There's always going to be people that hurt you so what you have to do is keep on trusting & just be more careful about who you trust next time around.

12. Make yourself a better person & know who you are before you try & know someone else & expect them to know you.

13. Don't try so hard, the best things come when you least expect them to.

REMEMBER: WHATEVER HAPPENS, HAPPENS FOR A REASON.

    Dear Joan,

    It is much nicer to see your photo (at least part of your face - lol)

    A big Hello Joan. Its always so nice to meet animal lovers and what better place than the Stans Getzs Comm. I guess you are well aware how much Dear Bev has done in the rescue and welfare of animals. That's why we are here, to help those animals who are in need of a little TLC and a little Love. Stop by our myspace and look at our last animal rescue. A baby squirrel we named Paulie. You will fall in love with this cute character. ( http://myspace.com/louandeva ) Letting him back into the wild was sooo hard to do. Lou even taught him how to open his first peanut. lol Thanks for connecting and hope to hear from you again soon. Love Eva and Lou

    Hi Joan, So you've also have had a close encounter of the furry kind, and know exactly how it feels to release those little guys back to the wild. Yea it not easy. The name Paulie was chosen by a friend in Australia who thought Paulette would be be a nice name for him but Lou's middle name is Paul so we decided on Paulie. And now we learn your first name is Paula. what a quinkydink haha! Thanks for the beakspeack, bird cam link. Its a cool site and we will add it to our favorites, although this year we were lucky enough to have our own personal bird nest view. We had a Robins nest with four babies in it just 2 feet away from our front door and inside a little evergreen shrub that was no taller than 4 feet we watched the eggs hatch and babies grow day by day. A real treat. We are about to post the pics on our myspace soon. It was funny because we have a Chinese mailman who is afraid of wild life and if he had to come to our door the mommy robin would scare him. On the day we first met Paulie, Eva was getting the mail from our mail man when little Paulie ran up to her. She picked him up and the mailman asked " how u do dat , I'm afraid " . We laughed so hard. Two years ago Eva had a baby sparrow follow her around like a puppy. Where ever Eva went the sparrow hopped right behind. The mail man thought the bird was injured and couldn't fly, but Eva told him no she flys fine she just my friend. We are beginning to think these animals are being sent to us for a reason. When we start seeing them come in pairs two by two then we will start to worry....cause..... Lou hasn't got a clue on how to build an ark. hehe. Stay Blessed Lou and Eva

    Joan with the beautiful eyes. Yup that b-you boopie.
    Joan the woman who loves the tone in the tone of saxophone.
    Joan, the the sincere branch of the life tree.
    Yup- The world needs a few more Joans :)
  • Gandalfe

    The saxophone community is really a small, incestious group of folk who hone their craft almost daily and can talk all night about the music, players, gear, and life style. For some of us it is a way of life. For others, the strap hangers, it's fun to forget work for a while and live the dream. :o)

    Cheers,
    Jim and Suzy (saxes and clarinets)

    YUP-Joan. Cool Joan and the tone of Joan.

    Its mee again;) This Sunday is Fathers Day...right? :) Well I am assuming that it is and have a litlle sumpin sumpin running through my head...so me being me...would like to share it with you here on Stans community of family, friends, and fans. We know Stan was an outSTANding father...we see that through his sweet daughter Bev(-;0
    I know there are others here who are fathers, and if you are not...well you HAVE a father;) So Happy Fathers Day to all!
    If you know or knew your father;
    Consider yourself blessed;
    two months before arrival;
    my father laid to rest.

    I feel still that I've known him;
    Have shared with him my tears;
    Have held him ever closer;
    each day, each month, each year.

    I know one day I'll see him;
    in such a wonderous place;
    my joy will over flow;
    as I feel his warm embrace;

    Its then I'll see two fathers;
    the earthly, the Divine;
    All tears be wiped away;
    no more suffering no more dying. ;)
  • Robert (Dr. Bob) Morrissey

    Dear Wonderful Joan,

    I must be serious for several seconds or so...for a change.................................................................

    My heartfelt thank you for two Father's Day Presents...
    the early sentiment given to me on my JBBQ Music Myspace (and it WAS my first "Father's Day" greeting
    received this year)...and the heart touching comments which you have made below for your beloved Father...
    and know that your GOLDEN WORDS read my own heart's
    feelings for my own long departed Father...who I knew
    for 21 years...but never KNEW until two decades
    after his death...and then understood...and forgave... and finally grew to love him...as I now know he loves me......This is all most complicated............................
    but so is life...if we let it be that way...........................
    AND YET LIFE IS REALLY VERY SIMPLE...and my own personal Near Death Experience (NDE) in 1979...gave me this most uncomplicated TRUTH.......There is Life
    After Life...and YOU WILL MEET YOUR FATHER TERRY
    ONEDAY...AND IT WILL BE JUST LIKE YOU ALREADY KNOW......YOUR EARTHLY FATHER IS NOW A DEVINE FATHER.......WITHIN THE LIGHT..................................

    With Love, Appreciation And Understanding,
    Bob {"AYLI"} XXXXXXXXXXXX

    Dear Wonderful Joan,

    It is an honor to have you as my friend...and through you...to know the presence of your beloved parents,
    Doris and Terry DesCarpentier. Their "perfect love"
    as you have described it led to (in my opinion) a perfect
    jazz friend for all of us here in the Stan Getz Community. Thank you for all of your always upbeat
    messages and friendly contributions...as well as your
    wonderful sense of wacko!!! (Wish I could "lighten up"
    and not be so serious all of the time - smile - lol),

    Dear Joan.
    Thank you for your wonderful warming words.
    Now I can go to bed with a smile on my face.
    So happy you liked "Vakker natt". And yes, "Lonely Lady", but then again; Stan Getz never played a wrong note and he always told/and is still telling stories like nobody else.
    Good night, sleep tight.

    Hi Joan!
    This friend request thing has happened to me as well. The only thing I can think of is that people from other "ning" networks can go between the networks and friend request. I THINK! But not really sure! Don't worry about offending anyone. Our "ning" is so small and sweet! I don't think anyone here could get offended! ((-: And... as "DOD" (Dear Old Dad) would say... "FEITAITCTAJ"! (I can't translate that one!) O~:

    Have a great weekend!
